There’s something about witnessing the beauty of nature that just hits more deeply when you’re in the saddle of a motorcycle. You manage a more intimate connection with the places you’re passing through and there are some truly breath-taking scenic roads that demand to be experienced!
Whatever obstacles you may come across, and however many risky situations you must battle your way through, the highs are just too incredible when you’re out on the road on your machine. And while it’s true that adventure can be anywhere, it’s somehow just that much easier to find it when you’re travelling on two wheels.
Australia’s Great Ocean Road
This is a one-day, 290 km ride from Melbourne to Peterborough with twists and turns that take your through shoreline rainforests, superb surfing beaches, and the craggy Shipwreck Coast. Here you can marvel at the limestone pinnacles rising up from the ocean bed as you take in the ideal northern winter ride.
The Cape Town Circuit
Great roads, incredible scenery, and an awesome climate makes South Africa an ideal destination for bikers. From Cape Town you’ll travel along the Wild Coast in an easterly direction before the road veers north. Here it crosses over Olifantskop Pass to the Addo National Park so you could spot some big game while you’re travelling.
Then you’ll open the throttles as you head across the Great Karoo towards Oudtshoorn via Route 62 before you clear the Little Karoo Mountains. Take some time to taste the wines around Robertson before you head back into the Mother City and bring your 1690 km trip to a close.
Ceuta to Marrakesh Loop
If you’ve seen great returns as a result of claiming big bonuses online, why not head to Morocco and take in this grand adventure?
After your roll of the Ceuta ferry you will switchback through the Rif Mountains and head for Fez. Then it’s time to traverse the Atlas Mountains before you hit the Sahara Desert at Erfoud. Head west through the Todra Gorge, passing Ouarzazate palm groves and Marrakesh, and enjoy the Tizi n’Test Pass which runs down to Agadir’s Atlantic Coast.
It’s two days from to Casablanca and then the final 321 km back to Ceuta via Tangiers, making for a total distance of 2570 km.
Dales and Moors, Yorkshire, England
It is 440 km from Kendal to Whitby, so you will only need one day to travel across North Yorkshire and enjoy the continuous loops, quick straights, glorious scenery, and demure vales in between adorable little market towns and picture worthy old houses.
Take the A684 over the Pennines to Hawes. This is the entrance to the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and you will get there by taking Aysgarth to Leyburn. Going south to Masham will allow you to enjoy Ripon and Thirsk, and then go over the moors via Pickering. You will enter Whitby and can celebrate your ride with excellent fish ‘n’ chips and pint of great-tasting ale.
