Ella became a rider to watch after winning the 2019 Enduro World Series R3:
Ella won the 2019 Enduro World Series R3, which took place on the island of Madeira, which is located in Portugal. While all eyes were on Ella, after her win in Madeira, unfortunately Ella was unable to take out a second win in quick succession. As she fractured her elbow during a training session for Les Orres EWS, in France. Ella was involved in an accident during the rock gardens on Stage 5 and severely injured her right elbow. Which took the brunt of the impact. According to Ella her bike’s front wheel got caught in a rock, which caused her bike to topple over unexpectedly.
Due to the severity of her injury Ella was put in a neck brace and carried off the course on a stretcher. However, despite her serious injury, Ella is committed to regaining her form and winning another major race.
Ella was named by Red Bull as one of 2019’s break through stars:
Red Bull, named Ella as one of their breakout mtb stars of 2019. A testament to her impressive win in Madeira. Some of the other rising mtb riders which were honoured by Red Bull include American riders Lars Forster and Marine Cabirou and Italian rider Laurie Greenland. All of whom are riders to watch out for in the near future. As they are all very capable of taking out podium positions, alongside Ella Connolly.

Ella’s profesional career, first took off when she won the title of being the women’s 2018 Under 21 EWS champion. A title which was hotly contested by professional racers from Europe and the USA.
In 2020 Ella was named in the SRAM Development team:
For the 2020 Enduro World Series, Ella was signed to the SRAM Development team. Which also signed Yoann Barelli.
